Thoughts about sidewalks

No one uses the sidewalks in this town anymore. This morning when I was coming back from dropping my MD off at the bus stop, I had to change lanes because there was a woman jogging with her dog in the middle of the lane I was driving in. WTF?!? I mean comon people, there's a perfectly good sidewalk going to waste here!

They don't use them here either. Mostly it's the teens who tempt fate by strolling up the middle of the road. But I've seen adults, too, recently doing the same thing. I don't get it at all.

Man you better use them here for people will run over you. We have lost three people on bicycles within about two months and they were not on the road. I'm not sure where it is safe anymore.

Hey, I see you are still losing in the battle .....good for you. And I keep eating my way through everything sweet that I can get my hands on!!!

Our mayor wants to make our s/w more people friendly. Hm. Our streets are more people/bike friendly than they are for cars. When did we go from a society that was concerned about watching the other guy to one where we *expect* everyone to watch out for us? Or maybe it's more of a "look at me" thing. Or maybe I'm just getting old. :o)

Congrats on the weight loss. And the will to keep it up. If only I (and apparently more than 1/2 of the people in the USA) were as strong!
